SHANGLA: A jirga in Ranzra area of tehsil Chakesar demanded of the government to resolve their multiple issues including road, school and hospital for easing the local people life.
The demand came out during a Jirga held on Monday at Ranzra area of tehsil Chakesar. Over 100 elders, notables attended the Jirga (meeting) and discussed their issues.
Anwar Ul Haq, a local said that they have facing multiple challenges including the road which is a dire need of the local people as they have to take their patients in bed to hospitals.
“While shifting patients to hospital, particularly women in maternity die on way to hospital because of long distance and absence of road and nearby health facility,” Mr Haq said.
Saeedullah, an elder, pointed out that their children growing up without having education and knowledge as there is no any primary school for the entire population of 3000.
He said when they have not knowledge and education how they could claim their basic rights from those who frequently and deliberately ignored them.
Muhammad Tahir, another elder said state should accept their existence and ensure fundamental rights as like other citizens of the country enjoy and don’t force them on to collect money by selling out their goats for construction road on self help basis.
He said, they have to united for claiming their basic rights from elected people as they never return when won seats in elections and then again visit only in election campaign.
Fazal Mabood, a social activist, said while highlighting the area core issues that elected lawmakers should visit the under developed area and get build the crucial road.
He demanded of the minister for environment, forests to cooperate with them in issuance of No objection Certificate for cutting for forests come in way of the road, so that they could initiate the road.
He said, the Pir Sar which was declared tourist point by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tourism department is near to Ranzra and it is also an attractive and breathtaking landscape, so the government should also included Ranzra in it project.
The Jirga also urged the Human rights to take action on the issue due to which women especially suffering and brings water from distance areas on their heads.
The Jirga unanimously demanded of the KP government to sort out their issues by allocating funds for the area in annual development projects.
