Cases registered, shops sealed in Shangla for hoarding and profiteering

SHANGLA: The district administration on Monday registered cases against shopkeepers for hoarding and profiteering.

The administration sealed several shops in different bazaars of the district. On the complaints of consumers regarding sudden increase in prices of daily use items, Deputy Commissioner Imran Hussain Ranjha directed the respective assistant commissioners to conduct raids on outlets of foods items in their tehsils.

Assistant Commissioner Wajid Ali Khan conducted raids in Alpuri, Bely Baba, Dehrai and Kotkay bazaars and registered FIRs against six flour sellers and other shopkeepers over hoarding and profiteering.

He sealed two shops in Dehrai and Alpuri bazaars and registered FIRs against four vendors and sent them behind bars.

The traders had increased prices of daily use items, particularly flour, rice, ghee and sugar.
