SHANGLA: The Shangla police on Wednesday in presence of a senior civil judge torched huge quantitiy of seized narcotic, liquor, expired ghee and unhygienic honey seized in different operations.
The narcotics burnt ceremony was held at Kokar Baba ground at in Alpuri on Wednesday where senior civil judge Shangla Ijaz Ur Rehman, district investigation officer, Muzamil Shah Jadoon, station house officer, PS Alpuri Muhammad Arif Khan and other police officials were present.
The SSP investigation, Muzamil Shah told reporters on the occasion that it was 103000 gram hashish, 700 liters liquor, 82 Kilogram expired poor quality ghee and 54KG unhygienic honey seized from the culprits possession which cases ended up with the court verdicts.
He said the narcotics, ghee and honey torched on the direction of the court and he was thankful to his investigation teams in Shangla police stations for pure investigation and the cases in which the court punished culprits and seized stuff destroyed today.
SSP investigation said, it was an example before the public that they can never compromise on the drugs curse and would continue his efforts to eliminate it from the society.
The senior civil judge, Ijaz Ur Rehman on the occasion said the courts punish the culprits on time and many drug peddlers had been punished through the court verdicts till now and the courts were open for justice.
Meanwhile, the Dandai police arrested drug peddlers and recovered a huge quantity of hashish from their possession on Wednesday.
Shangla police spokesperson, Umar Rehman, told reporters on Wednesday that two wanted drug peddlers Farman Ali and Nawab Zada arrested by the Dandai police and over 1000 gram hashish had been recovered from their possession.
He said the arrest of drug peddlers was made on a tip off by the SHO Afzal Khan and cases against the suspects had also registered at Dandai police station.
MINER LAID TO REST: A coalminer who died in a coalmine incident at Chakwal district in Punjab the other day and his dead body brought to Shangla on Wednesday and buried at his ancestral graveyard.
Locals told reporters that coalminer Alif Zada, resident of Ashad Kot, Puran tehsil of Shangla was busy at his workplace when he electrocuted and died.
They said that his dead body was brought to his native town Ashad Kot in Puran where after offering funeral prayers, he was laid to resent in his ancestral graveyard.
