Protest, Rally held in Shangla against publication of blasphemous caricatures

SHANGLA: Traders and political activists of the religious political parties took out a rally and staged protest demonstration on the Karakoram Highway urging the government to cut off diplomatic ties with France and also boycott its products in protest against the publication of blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in France, also demanded compensation for martyred students of Peshawar Semanari where the blast had happened.
The protest was called by the Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam-Fazal here on Friday which led by JUI-F local leaders Qari Mushtaq, Imad Ahmed Khan and others.
The protesters while carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against french prime minister and were shouting slogans against France and urging government to cut off diplomatic ties with France and boycott its products.
Imad Ahmed Khan, JUI-F local leader said that it did not happen for the first time that non-muslim countries published blasphemous caricatures but the accused had punished by that countries and unfortunately France government were now supporting these blasphemous accused which was a threat to the Muslim countries.
He said the incumbent government in Pakistan was still kept mum on the issue which can not be tolerated at any cost and it should cut off diplomatic ties with France but immediately.
Qari Mushtaq, said it was the non-muslims agenda to hurt Muslims but being Muslim and followers of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), they would respond to France and force to the government to ban on import of the foods and other stuff of France and would not set in peace unless the french premier did not beg pardon from Muslims of all over the world.
He said the government should immediately expel the France envoy from Pakistan and keep the ties cut off until the french government arrest and punished the blasphemous accused.
The speakers at the protest also urged the government to launch an organised movement and pursue the OIC to lead a campaign against France.
The Karakoram Highway remained blocked for an hour for all sorts of traffic during the protest.
