Heavy snowfall caused problems for local people in Shangla valley

SHANGLA: The electricity across Shangla district has been suspended for the last four days due to heavy snowfall and damaged of pylons causing problems to the district inhabitants.
Shangla district has been receiving heavy snowfall in the district since last four days consecutively which has disturbed the routine life in the district and deprived entire district from the electricity.
According to the assistant commissioner, Alpuri, restoration of the power supply was underway and pylons damaged at several points due to heavy snowfall and landslide and Pesco staff was busy in repair work.
Akbar Ali, a local in Lilonai, told that they had been facing severe problems owing prolonged power outages and unable even to walk in the street because of heavy snowfall.
He said his entire village was suffering and dark due to the power supply blackout and people had no charge even in their mobile phones.
The snowfall was stopped for some hours, however, it resumed after the break also rain in the main areas including Bisham city, while the rest of areas received snowfall and covered the upper parts in snow blanket and presenting a mesmerizing view.
The local administration on Thursday claimed to have cleared the major roads for all sorts of traffic and snow removed from the roads including Bisham-Swat road, Alpuri-Puran road, Karora-Chakesar road and Bunir-Martung road.
