SHANGLA: Members of civil society in Shangla have alleged that lady doctors in the district headquarters hospital are misbehaving with patients and including male doctors they always absent from the duty.
Members of the civil society Ali Bhash Khan, Gul Shangla, Abid Yar, Niaz Muhammad Khan and others told media persons on Thursday that an elderly widow woman was came to them complaining about the lady doctors of the DHQ hospital Alpuri, where she alleged that a lady doctor misbehaved with her.
They said according to that woman that she had visited to the DHQ hospital labour room for delivery of her daughter in law, “The nurse repeatedly asked the doctor Baji come the patient is critical but the doctor was busy in her mobile phone, she told the nurse what we should do why they people born children in cold weather,” She told them.
Hussain Ali Heraan alleged that when people shift their patient to DHO hospital labour room doctor advise them to refer the patient to nearby private hospital they have not equipment, she will deal the patient in that private hospital.
“Including ultrasound machine everything are available in the labour room of the hospital but just for the sake of money the lady doctors referes patient to their private clinics and take huge amount from the poor people and they borrow to save their loved ones lives,” He alleged.
Abid Yaar said they have submitted several complaints to district health officer but he could not event initiate inquiry in the hospital matters, while people of the area are facing problem to frequent misbehave of the doctors in the government hospitals.
He said the doctors also blackmail the high authorities through their associations because they call strikes if officials take notice over their guilt.
The civil society members have demanded of the provincial health department to take dispensary action against the doctors and also ensure good manners with the patients in the government hospitals otherwise they would come onto street for agitation.
This correspondent made attempts to contact the medical superintendent of the hospital but his mobile phone was remained switch off.
