SHANGLA: Local residents of Alpuri and its surroundings have complained about shortage of staff at the district headquarters hospital Alpuri, causing difficulties to the women visiting facility.
Locals from Alpuri, Lelonai, Ghorband, Kotkay told reporters here on Wednesday that DHQ hospital is a major hospital of the district serving a huge population but it has been shortage of staff for long.
“We have tackled the staff shortage issue with minister for information Shaukat Yousafzai severally but in vain. We wanted round the clock duty lady doctor and related staff at the hospital labour room, so that the precious lives of women could be saved,” Ali Bash Khan, an activist said.
He said, the hospital also lack male doctors, paramedics staff due to which local people suffered greatly.
Attaullah Khan, another local said, the inexperience nursing staff deal the women patients in labour room due to lack of lady doctors.
“The PTI’s government has failed with provision health and education facilities to the people of Shangla, although the district people had elected MPA from PTI with historical high margin of votes,” He said.
He said ensuring facilities at the public sector departments is responsibility of the government, hence, government of KP fill the vacant posts of the DHQ hospital Shangla to ease the local people miseries.
Medical Superintendent of DHQ hospital, Doctor Shafiul-Mulk, when contacted by this correspondent, he told this scribe that about 33 doctors and dozens of paramedics staff posts are vacant in the hospital.
He said, a single lady doctor nowadays serving the patients round the clock which is a difficult for her.
