Swat university failed to appoint staff in Shangla campus

SHANGLA: University of Swat was failed to fill up vacant posts at the Shangla campus, candidates applied for the positions still awaiting of tests and interviews as a year has been passed since they have applied for the jobs.
Candidates from various parts of the district Shangla were gathered at Bisham on Thursday told media persons that they have been applied for the posts at university of Swat Shangla campus a year ago but yet to received any respond from the university.
They claimed that the posts are still vacant though the campus is now completely functional and shifted to a new building.
A source in the university of Swat Shangla campus told The Northern Post that nephew of the chief minister Mehmood Khan has appointed as assistant director administration on recommendation, also two in the faculty members, however the rest of positions are vacant in the campus.
“I have deposited Rs600 through bank account of the university for applying for the post of computer operator which was advertised by the University of Swat Shangla campus a year ago but till date neither university respond nor conduct any test for the posts,” Ali Khan, a candidate said.
He said like him there were number of jobless candidates who had applied for the posts and still awaiting for the test and interview supposed to be conducted by the campus.
Arif Khan, another candidate it seems that the university campus administration has appointed the staff illegally in secret way because a year gone and they yet to received any information about the jobs.
He demanded of the higher education commission of Pakistan to take action in the matter and probe it if the positions were filed without conducting tests and interviews.
They also urged the HEC if the positions are still vacant order the university administration to conduct test and interviews for the vacant posts from those who have applied for the positions.
When contacted the campus director Mehboob Ur Rehman, he told this scribe that it was in the process and university jobs recruitment usually take more time than the other departments.
