Tribute paid to veteran Pashtu poet, Rehmat Shah Sayel

SHANGLA: Literary circles from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa paid tribute to veteran legend poet Rehmat Shah Sayel for his poetical work and services to Pashtu literature.
A poetry session was organized by Puran Adabi Olasi Jirga titled with “Tribute to Rehmat Shah Sayeel” at Aloch Puran on Tuesday night. Poets, writers, elders, youth, political people and poetry lovers from across the district attended the session, while veteran poets from acorss the province, Rehmat Shah Sayel, Bakht Zada Danish, Faiz Ali Faiz, Fazal Subhan Afghani, Attaullah Ghazal, Izhar Hamdard Izhar, Samiullah Gran, Doctor Khalid Mehmood and Farhat Abbas presented their poems on the occasion and got applause.
“Rehmat Shah Sayel used flowers and colours of this land as symbols against the freedom of soul and body. His songs are in no way inferior than the internationally famous English poets,” Said, Bakht Zada Danish, an emerging Pashtu poet.
He said his poetry collections bear colour, love and pains at a time. He is the pride of Pakhtoons all over the globe.
“Rehmat Shah Sayel is a living legend of this soil because he is the one who mixed romance with revolution and woven the pain of his fellow men in string of his art. He preached love and used song as weapon against extremism,” Fazal Subhan Afghani, a local renowned poet, describe the senior poet.
He said, Mr Sayel had given him courage and inspiration which made him able to publish a book of poetry collection.
Mr Afghani added that paying tribute to the legend poet was meant to honour him and recognise his efforts, he made for Pashtu literature.

Bakht Zada Danish also appreciated the beauty of Shangla as well as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in his poetry which has rich of natural attraction.
[We had addressed some dried trees a year ago and when I returned after a year the lifeless dried twigs were bearing new leaves], Pashtu veteran poet, a piece of poetry, veteran poet, Rehmat Shah Sayel, presented on the occasion.
Rehmat Shah Sayel on the occasion Thanked the people of Puran Shangla for giving him such an honour and said that being constantly in journey all over the Pakhtoon region he has evidenced the first people who love their language and legends like a living nation.
He stressed upon the youth to achieve more and more education in order to fight against darkness and bring up up your area to progress.
