SHANGLA: A blind murder case of a police personal who was shot dead near his house in Martung area two weeks ago has been solved and the accused arrested, who confessed the murder.
District police officer, Shangla, Asif Gohar was addressing a news conference here at his office on Wednesday. SDPO Puran and SHO Martung Pervez Khan were also present on the occasion.
DPO Shangla said that initially the slain policeman brother Fida Muhammad in the FIR had claimed that they have not any personal enmity and the incident was declared a terrorism incident being police personal but after the day-night efforts of the investigation team of the case the blind murder case solved.
He said that he had directed the investigation team including SP Investigation Muzamil Shah Jadoon to investigate the case with all aspects and ascertain the actual cause of the case and apprehend the accused.
DPO said for tracing the accused investigation team had conducted several raids of search and during the search operation, they found 05 Guns, 05 Pistols and 38 cartridges and held meetings with locals and also used secret tactics as well as digital tools and eventually traced the accused.
He said over 50 local people were interrogated during the interrogation process who had assured police for possible help and sharing information.
Shangla police chief said that Said Jamal the slain policeman neighbour was seen suspected on the day of the incident who had also attended his funeral and later fled to Rawalpindi.
He said Said Jamal was then called to Shangla by police for interrogation and during the interrogation, he confessed the crime and told police in his statement that slain police Muhammad Hafiz had his secrets on which he was blackmailing him and threatened him of killing.
DPO said, the accused told police that he had killed Muhammad Hafiz near his house at night with Kalashnikov and he also identified the place where he had hidden the gun which had been recovered by the police.
He said the terrorism sections 7ATA had been removed from the FIR and registered the case under section 302 against the accused Said Jamal and begun further interrogation into the case.
