National voter day observed in Shangla

SHANGLA: speakers at a seminar urged the residents to ensure registration of women voters in the ongoing campaign to enable them to poll votes in elections and play role in progress of the country.
A seminar was organized by the district election commission at Alpuri on Friday which was called by the chief election commissioner across the country to celebrate the December 7, as national voter day.
District election commissioner Bakhtiarul-Mulk, Principal centinial model School Mirza Ali, Abdul Kabir, Muhammad Islam, Ali Rehman, Suliman Shah and others spoke on the occasion, while a positive sign was of the even was a large number of participation of women in the seminar.
An official of the ECP, Ali Rehman sheeded light on the importance of the vote and also guided the audience about the amendment made by the ECP for upcoming elections.
District election commissioner Bakhtiar-ul-Mulk said on the occasion that vote is a basic right of both female and male citizen of the country, hence Shangla citizen should register their votes as soon as possible.
He said people could fix errors of their votes till December 31 of this month, for they have to get forms from the election commission Shangla office.
Mr Mulk urged the Shangla residents, particularly female to register their votes as soon as possible by ensuring their basic right to vote.
He said the PK-23 Shangla-I re-poll was an example for us which was declared null and void over low women turnout, so 10 per cent of women vote was essential for all type of elections.
Women participants said on the occasion that they would spread the speaker’s message about the importance of vote among the rural areas women.
