SHANGLA: The monsoon tree plantation drive for the year 2022 launched in Shangla district here on Thursday, 0.6 million different species saplings to be planted during the plantation campaign across the district by the Alpuri forest division Shangla.
The monsoon tree plantation drive inaugural ceremony was arranged at the district headquarters hospital Alpuri by the Alpuri forest division where deputy commissioner, Shangla Ziaur Rehman was the chief guest, while assistant commissioner headquarters, Muneeba Fatima, divisional forest officer Alpuri Inamullah Khan and other line department officials were present on the occasion.
The DC Shangla Ziaur Rehman told reporters that around 0.6 million saplings of different species to be planted on 60 hectare land under the monsoon tree plantation drive in every part of the district Shangla.
He said the monsoon tree plantation was one of the initiatives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to make the province clean and green and healthy environment where people could take a safe and fresh breath.
“I urge the Shangla citizens to plant more and more saplings in their surroundings as it is the right season for plantation trees and it would help you in future by protecting you from natural climate and global warming, scorching weather,” The DC Shangla appealed the public.
DFO Shangla Inamullah Khan said that the plantation not would increase the beauty of Shangla but also make the soil conserved from degradation especially from the landslide which was a major issue of Shangla district.
DFO Shangla also stressed on local people to include tree plantation their objective and plant trees in your surroundings as much as possible and also take out time for its lookafter and indeed that trees would help them more than their expectations also create awareness about the tree plantation among the public about trees importance.
