SHANGLA: police lodged an FIR against a man identified as Inzimam of Shahpur for assaulting a minor girl in Koz Kana area on Sunday.
According to FIR, Sultan Mehmood reported to police that his eight-year-old daughter had gone to bazaar in Koz Kana for bringing some daily use commodities, and when she was returning a man identified as Inzimam forcibly took her to a stream where he assaulted her.
The complainant said another man tried to catch hold of the accused, but he managed to escape.
Police said the girl was taken to the district headquarters hospital, Alpuri, where medical examination showed that she was assaulted.
Police registered FIR against the suspect and began further interrogations.
