Three killed in road accident in Upper Chitral

The district and session judge, Shangla, Farzena Shahid here the other day convicted a man for killing a man in 2021 and awarded him life sentence and his accomplice for 10 years.
Investigation officer of the case, Ziarat Gul Khan told Dawn on Wednesday that a complainant Attaullhaq, resident of Chichlo Shangla had reported to Karora police station about his father Muhammad Taj murder and injury of his brother Muhammad Sadiq and accused Gul Rehman, Haji Muhammad.

He said following the arrest of the accused, he had started the investigation in the case and soon he had received a collection of evidence during the investigation and submitted the findings report to the court.

After rounds of trials the district and session judge, Shangla, Farzena Shahid convicted culprit Gul Rehman for life sentence and Haji Muhammad for 10 years and both were brothers.

The district police officer, Shangla, Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada on the occasion told journalists that on the special directives of the inspector general of police, Akhtar Hayat Gandapur, they had improved the investigation of cases to ensure provision of justice to the complainants.

He said bringing the culprits to justice was a main objective of the police department, himself putting his efforts to further improve the police investigation.

DPO asked the police officers in the investigation department to be fair and kind while dealing with both suspects and complainants in the cases.

ACCIDENT: A man died another injured when a mini jeep fell into a deep ravine at Dunai area of Kana tehsil here on Wednesday noon.
Police told that the Jeep was coming to Kuz Kana from Dunai when its brake went out of order and the jeep fell hundreds of feet down in which Khalil-Ur-Rehman of Dunai died and another injured.
