SHANGLA: The district administration Shangla to establish Darlul Aman in Shangla soon, initially the women protection centre would be established in a rented building, however, staff recruitment in process and to be advertised in coming week.
This was said the deputy commissioner, Shangla on Saturday after a meeting with MPA and Chairperson of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Parliamentary Caucus, Dr Sumaira Shams, newly elected tehsil chairman Alpuri, Waqar Ahmad Khan, district officer social welfare and other officials were also present.
The government delegation visited different sites in the Alpuri tehsil for selection of a proper and well facilitated building for Darul Aman and during the meeting discussed its security and staff recruitment matters.
The deputy commissioner, Shangla briefed the WPC Chairperson KP, Dr Sumaira Shams about the status and progress of Darul Aman.
The DC Shangla Ziaur Rehman said that establishment of DARUL AMAN in shangla had included in the provincial annual development program scheme for which Schedule of New Expenditure SNE of staff approved. “This meeting was basically for selection of proper building with all facilities, for which few sites have been identified in Lilonai. Similarly security of the Darul aman was discussed in detail for which proper request to DPO will be sent when it is established,” He said.
DC Shangla said after establishment of Darul aman load on Swat Darul Aman will be manged and shelter-less local women of Shangla would be boarded and facilitated till final decision from different courts.
He said Darul Aman will be inaugurated very soon by the provincial minister for labour and culture.
TOURISTS VISIT: The Deputy commissioner, Shangla, Ziur Rehman said thousands of tourists visited Shangla on the occasion of Eid Holidays and they were facilitated by the administration and police and they spent their vacations in the peaceful scenic tourist destination of Shangla.
He said around 1200 vehicles of tourists entered Shangla through the Karakoram Highway recorded in Dandai check post and over 700 vehicles entry of the tourists recorded at Shangla top check post after the Eidul Fitr.
He said tourists were coming to the scenic valley to spend their time in nature but unfortunately the lack of proper hotels and closure of PTDC was one of the reasons, however, he was hopeful that PTDC would reopen very soon as KP government was going to start them all.
MEANWHILE, An Italian tourist was injured while walking upwards the KKH monument Bisham, however, the Rescue 1122 team reached timely and provided him first aid.
The Rescue 1122 spokesperson, said that the couple was going on tour to Gilgit Baltistan and stopped near the KKH monument to see it but during climbing it he fell down and wounded, however he was provided first aid on the spot for which the couple thanked the KP Rescue 1122 service for timely and quick response.
