Islamabad in Chaos: Aftermath of PTI Protesters’ Clash with Police

Islamabad witnessed chaos and destruction on Wednesday after paramilitary forces pushed back PTI protesters. Led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, the protesters had reached D-Chowk in Islamabad to stage a sit-in.

Their demands included the release of Imran Khan, the restoration of the February 8 election mandate, and the withdrawal of the recently amended 26th constitutional amendment. However, the protest turned violent on Tuesday night, with security forces using tear gas, rubber bullets, and live ammunition, resulting in casualties among PTI protesters.

The container carrying PTI leadership was set on fire, and its remains were removed by the Islamabad administration. On Wednesday, the city’s roads near D-Chowk remained blocked with containers, but sanitation workers cleaned the roads and removed the remnants of the violent crackdown.
