Female doctor found dead at Lahore’s Jinnah hospital

LAHORE: A 24-year-old doctor was found dead under suspicious circumstances at the girl’s hostel of the Jinnah Hospital late Thursday night.

Police said the woman was identified as Aroosha Noreen and she worked as a doctor at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. She hailed from Gujrat and used to work at the gynaecology ward of the hospital. On Thursday, when her family called on her mobile phone she didn’t answer calls, police said, adding that she also didn’t respond to her friends’ phone calls.

“She was found dead at her room,” said police, adding that she died after she was injected an expired injection.
After receiving the information about the incident, police and forensic lab team reached the spot, gathered evidence and shifted her body to a morgue.

According to SP Model Town Ali Wasim, investigations are underway and police are looking into the case from different angles.

Family of the victim refused to initiate any legal action. Police and hospital authorities said that they would hand over the victim’s body to the family as soon as they get permission from the judicial magistrate.

The incident happened a day after a male medical student was found dead from the room of a private hostel located in Hayer, Lahore.

Police said 22-year-old Abdul Samad was the student of the final year at a private medical college and lived in a private hostel. He hailed from Charsadda.
