Federal Minister Engr Amir Muqam briefed on J&K State property in Pakistan

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan (KA&GB) Engr Amir Muqam in its meeting on Friday was briefed regarding the administration of Jammu and Kashmir State Property in Pakistan; its utilization; annual income and expenditure.

Federal Secretary Ministry of AJ&K Jawad Raffique & other officials were present on the occassion.

Administrator J&K State properties briefed the Minister regarding state properties situated in different locations of Punjab. The federal Minister directed to ensure property from any type of illegal encroachment and make a viable proposal for proper utilisation of J&K state properties.

Federal Minister further directed to make business plan for all available commercial plots to be submitted with in ten days.

Federal Minister also directed the officials that rent of all properties be reviewed reasonably.

The Minister was informed that the Government of Pakistan took over the management of properties in 1955 on the request of Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Government of Pakistan assumed control and ownership of the said properties by promulgating Jammu and Kashmir (Administration of Property) Ordinance-III of the 1961 amendment, as amended in 1977 and 1979. Properties are divided into urban property.
