Father kills daughter for not serving tea

The Shangla police investigation wing on Wednseday claimed to have solved blind murder case of a girl, who was shot dead by her father and termed it suicide in the statement he had recorded with the police, the incident was occurred at Gombat Kuz Paw, in Chawga, Puran.

Amjad Alam, station house officer at Chawga police station told The Northern Post on Wednesday that a 16 years old girl was brought from Kuz Paw, Chawga to tehsil headquarters hospital, Puran on June, 15, 2023 where she succumbed to her injuries.

He said the deceased girl father Gul Haq Noor recorded his statement to police in the hospital and claimed his daughter shot herself with a pistol, however they initiated interrogation into the case under section 174 Crpc.

SHO said they had started the interrogation soon after receiving the medical report of the incident which had revealed that two bullets used in the incident and fired from distance.

He said that the investigation team in supervision of assistant sub-inspector, Azhar Khan interrogated the case with different aspects while using different techniques and taken the deceased girl mother into interrogation.

“The woman is the only witness and now plaintiff of the incident, who was reluctant to tell the truth and avoiding recording her statement but after several rounds she agreed and recorded the statement with police,” SHO said.

He said the woman said while recording her statement under section 164, that she was present in the house that day and busy in domestic chores when her husband Gul Haq Noor entered house and her daughter Sarya Bibi-16 served him glass of water.

“My husband was asking dauther Sarya to make tea for him but she replied, wait let her finish washing clothes. When she did not return for making tea in two request of her father, when she went to the room, her father ran the room and I heard the gun shots,” Syasat Bibi, mother of deceased girl stated in the FIR.

She further stated in the FIR that she ran the room as heard the gunshots and found her daughter Sarya bibi in a pool of blood and her husband had his pistol in hands.

She said that she was scared of her husband because he had asked him to not open her mouth to police and public regarding the murder.

SHO Amjad Alam said after recording the plaintiff statement on September, 15, the district public prosecutor sent comments and finding report for lodging FIR and they registered the FIR on September, 20.

Replying to a question, SHO said they had been conducting raids to arrest the accused and so far not successful but hopeful he would be behind bars soon.
