8 Children died in landslide incident laid to rest in Shangla’s Martung
8 children died in a mudslide incident at Kuz Kaly of Martung tehsil, buried in their ancestral graveyard after their mass funeral was offered on Friday morning.
The mass funeral of the deceased children was attended by people from different walks of life including politicians and authorities.
The deceased children were identified by the district administration on Friday and two of them were siblings.
Shayan-7, Ayan-7, Raza-11, Zafran-7, and Sajwal-12 brothers, Haris Khan-12, Azmaullah-14, and Rehmatullah-10 and were relatives of each other and belonged to poor families.
Local elders Fazalullah Khan, Ali Bahadar Khan, Shujat Ali, and others told journalists on the occasion demanded the government establish a Rescue 1122 station in the Puran sub-division which would cover three different sub-tehsil of the area because reaching the Rescue 1122 team from Alpuri took 4 hours to reach the area.
They urged the government to provide compensation to the bereaved families as soon as possible.
The incident occurred in the Martung Kuz Kaly area when these children were playing cricket on Friday.
