The Awami National Party’s (ANP) senior leaders, office bearers and workers in Shangla, quit party in protest, after the party’s provincial president ousted the incumbent and farmer general secretaries from the party.
The Awami National Party’s provincial president, Aimal Wali Khan had sacked the party’s current secretary general, Muhmmad Zakir Khan of Puran and Ali Bahadar Khan advocate, who served the party as a general secretary several times in the past.
The ANP provincial chief had accused both the party local leaders of violating the party discipline saying they are involved in activities against the party.
Following the sacking of party local leaders, including central and provincial party members, district, union council, tehsil level office bearers announced resignation in protest, the provincial president decision.
Among them who resigned the party, Amani Mulk Khan, chief organizer of Khudai Khidmatgar Shangla, Aftan Ali, district vice president, Iftikhar Ahmad, general secretary for tehsil Chakesar.
Also Nasibulhaq, joint secretary in tehsil Puran, Arshad Betab, additional general secretary, tehsil Puran, Jamshid Iqbal, additional secretary, tehsil Chakesar, Sakhi Jan, village council president, Sundvi, Rozi Khan, president VC Nem Kaly, Aloch, Fazal Subhan, Naqibullah, Riaz Ahmad members of district councils left the party opposing the party’s provincial chief decision.
Mukhtar Ahmad, President, Shahab Ahmad, general secretary ANP, Martung Khas and Mehboob Alam, president, union council Bar Puran also decided to leave the party in protest of undemocratic and forceful decision of the Aimal Wali Khan.
Ali Bahadar Khan advocate, who is expelled from the ANP, told this correspondent that Aimal Wali Khan had served him a show cause notice, stating that you are violating the party discipline and involved in the activities against the party.
He said in response he wrote, neither he violated the party discipline nor was involved in such activities against the party as he had been associated with ANP from fourth fathers and always worked tirelessly for the party and made it strengthen not only in Shangla but also in neighboring districts.

The sacked party former general secretary, Mr Ali Bahadar Khan said he was expelled from the party on the recommendation of those who had recently joined the party for their vest interest but he would continue his preaching of the Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan (Bacha Khan) philosophy because ANP was the Bacha Khan Baba non-violent moment and a party struggle for peace and promoting brotherhood.
Muhammad Azam Khan, president ANP, Shangla said in this regard that his general secretary was even not in his contact for the last several years and avoided working for the party.
He said there was no space in the ANP for those who work for other parties and keep the ANP offices and always violate the party discipline, however he accepted the party’s provincial president decision which was recommended by the party election commission committee.
