SHANGLA: The elders from Chakesar tehsil have demanded of the district administration and anti-corruption department to take action against contractors who embezzled the local government annual development programs funds.
The Chakesar tehsil elders pointed out the issue during a meeting with the deputy commissioner on Tuesday. Bakht Alam Khan who is the PML-N district president, said that dozens of uplift projects were tenderised under the 2017 ADP of the local government for Chakesar tehsil but till date the schemes were not executed.
“I complained about the schemes to the local government department many times but yet started the work on small projects. The contractors might have embezzled the funds allocated for the schemes under the 2017 LG ADP,” He claimed.
He said the contractors in Shangla had been involved in corruption but neither the administration nor the anti-corruption department took action against them.
The PML-N leader also demanded the KP anti-corruption department to intervene in the uplift projects contractors matters and take legal action against the contractors or force them to execute the schemes immediately.
