Claim: The Shangla bar association, lawyers, and Pakistan Tehrik-I-Insaf leaders and workers had claimed on social media that their protest forced the government to bow down and transferred the Shangla deputy commissioner, Hassan Abid as they have been accusing the DC of being involved in the corruption (Fact-check:).
Fact: The election commission of Pakistan has issued a formal request on 18th September, 2023 requesting the KP government for transfers and posting of 25 officers of the KP government in the different divisions and districts, mainly the commissioners and deputy commissioners.
The Shangla deputy commissioner, Hassan Abid is included in the list at number 20, as mentioned in the notification the Shangla DC has been transferred and posted as a deputy commissioner, Kolai Palas Kohistan under section 10 of the civil servants act, 1973, vice S.no. 19.
Later on September, 19 the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa establishment department approved the request but also reshuffled other officials too of the KP government departments as reported on September, 20 in the daily Dawn. 53 officers transferred in massive reshuffle
CONCLUSION: We found the PTI workers, lawyer’s claims false as the deputy commissioner, Shangla Hassan Abid also clarified it to us that his transfer was recommended by the ECP three months ago and he was supposed to transfer to Kolai Pallas already.
The letters issued by the ECP and KP establishment department also revealed that the claim is false and based on misleading the social media users.
The DC Shangla transferred on ECP request by establishment department KP in the reshuffle of government officers across the KP neither Amir Muqam nor protest forced the government to bow down and transfer the DC Shangla.
