Fact-Checked: PTI tehsil Alpuri's chairman arrest made in may 9 riots

An incident was reported on social media that the Pakistan Tehrik-I-Insaf Alpuri tehsil chairman, Waqar Ahmad Khan arrested for addressing a protest rally in Alpuri which was organised against “alleged corruption of DC Shangla”.
The incident had gone viral on social media and everyone, including the district bar association Shangla shared posts terming it a reaction to the protest rally they held against the deputy commissioner, Shangla on Monday.
The Northern Post team fact-checked the news from different sources, including the concerned police station, station house officer, Muhammad Afzal Khan, the deputy commissioner Shangla, Hassan Abid and the district police officer, and came to the conclusion that the PTI’s leader and Alpuri tehsil chairman Waqar Ahmad Khan arrest was made under 3MPO (Maintenance of public ordinance) in which he was charged for May 9 riots.
The officials and documents confirmed that Waqar Ahmad was among those charged for May 9 violence.
