December 16 when the nation fell into sorrow

December 16-the day when the nation’s future was attacked and the hopes of 144 families were taken away in a school in Peshawar.
Just four years ago on 16 December 2014 (Tuesday), the kids got up early in morning and got prepared for the school according in a routine. Malik Usama Tahir, a table tennis player and a student of APS Peshawar, living eight kilometers away from his school in Gulshan Colony, was insisting not to attend the school to have a table tennis match later on that night. He was telling his parents that there is an opening ceremony of the tournament at 10 am, so if he miss the school, he could attend the ceremony and do practice for the match. But his father denied and told him to attend the school. Hence, Usama along with his brother went to school. His parents never knew that they will receive the dead body of Usama later in the day.
Just like Usama, the other kids well prepared wearing blue sweater and black pant went to the school. After the school assembly the classes started. The students of class 8th, 9th, and 10th were called in the auditorium for having a first aid session. The rest of the students were having regular classes.
All of a sudden, a group of seven trained militants entered the school; first they got into the auditorium and started firing. The students were trying to escape but the terrorists standing at the doors were continuously shooting them. After that, the terrorists got into the classes killing so many other students. Adding to their brutality, they even burnt the principal, who were trying to rescue the students, alive. This tragedy resulted in the martyrdom of about 144 flowers like kids including Usama Tahir.
But the question is that who were these militants, from where and how they came? Still we don’t have answer to the question.
We observe December 16 as a Black Day in remembrance of APS martyrs, but we only remember them, we couldn’t answer their mothers about their fault, and that what was their sin and why their kids were killed with such brutality.
We are getting together every 16 December just to revive the grief of the families of these little flowers like martyrs. Their parents are still waiting for the justice.
None of the parents feel guilty for sending their kids to the school but Usama’s father does!
Currently, we are in a situation where some important people are being attacked by militants and we lose them, then we condemn the attack and killing of our people. Then the higher officials and some nationalist leaders attend their funerals and bury them forever. And the very next year on the same day, functions are organized in the remembrance of these martyrs, few poems and anthems are sung, and this goes on every year!
But is this remembrance can bring the kids back to their mom’s for whom every day is December 16, 2014. Can’t we give these moms little of a justice at least if not their kids! Can’t the reality be brought to the front! I leave these questions on all of you!
