SHANGLA: Local residents and students of the remote Manrai Sar of Alpuri tehsil have demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s education department to functional the sole primary school established in the area The than MPA of the Pakistan People Party from Shangla Badiul Zaman had established a government primary school in Kuz manai area of tehsil Alpuri in 1989 and a class-iv was also promised by the department with the local man who had donated his land for the school construction but till date, the school is not made functional.
Bakht Dad, an elder, said that their village was consisting of poor masses and mostly work as coalminers in the coalmines at different parts of the country, and the government seemed least interested in providing education facilities to their children.
“There are 300 houses in our village and over 700 children but there is no primary school for them and they only go to Madrassa regularly. They are kept deprived of the fundamental right of education,” He said.
Qayum Dada, another elder told The Northern Post that the issue of absence of school had been discussed with the government representatives many times but to no avail.
He said Like in the past both boys and girls of the area had raised uneducated due to the absence of school and still in this modern era their children of both genders were being grown up without attended a single class.
He said, the elected representatives were responsible for their children’s future destruction as well as the education department that ignored their area in facilitating it with functional schools.
Qari Iftikhar, a prayer leader in the mosque, said that he had 130 enrollment of both girls and boys where he taught them Nazira also Nursery and the first class of the school in mosque due to lack of school in his area for children.
Ibrar Ahmed, a 3rd grad student of the area said that he and his some other friends from the village daily walk for two to three hours to go to school in Kotkay and Manya Bala but that school was also overcrowded.
He said walking to distant school during winter season comes difficult for them and they slip and get injured, he appealed of the government to made his area school functional so that they could get an education at their doorstep.
Zeshan, a student of class-7, told The Northern Post that he had been studied in a faraway school in Kotkay for the last seven years and faced troubles, “I wish we have schools in our village would not face troubles,” He said.
