SHANGLA: The local youth of Shangla district have demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to give a formal status to Zone six to six backwards district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as it has been delayed after passing a bill from the KP assembly in 2018.
Local unemployed youth told reporters on Tuesday that a year has been passed of passing a bill for creating a separate zone 6 on the public demand of six districts of Malakand and Hazara divisions.
They said, there were hundreds of unemployed educated youth in all the six backward districts, Shangla, Kohistan, Lower, Upper, Kolai Pallas Kohistan, Battagram and Torghar but due to limited seats in zone-3 in which over a dozen districts included.
Wakeel Khan an unemployed youth in Bisham said he has done his graduation in 2017 and in search of job and severally appeared in Public Service Commission tests and interviews for different jobs but could not get job as yet because of the number of applicants applied for the posts in the zone-3.
He said, they had meetings with the lawmakers from all districts fallen in the proposed zone six and promised them severally, also the minister information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Yousafzai assured them that zone six is in the pipeline to be formally set up soon but to no avail.
Habibullah, an activist from Chawga Makhozi said that it was totally injustice with the backward districts unemployed youth who could not get jobs due to zone 3 competition as thousands of candidates applied for single post.
“Lawmakers from the all districts should come on a page for this demand and meet chief minister to formally create the new zone six as it is a longstanding demand of us so that local youth could get jobs through public service commission,” He said.
The Shangla youth warned the government if their demand was not accepted by the government they would come on roads for agitation.
