Lawyers strike against amendments in CPC continue for second day

SHANGLA: Lawyers in the district Shangla staged a protest rally for second day against amendments made to the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC) 1908, and introduction of a provincial anti-narcotics law.
Protest rally taken out by the district bar room Shangla lawyers at Alpuri on Tuesday carrying banners inscribed with slogans against amendments in the CPC.
The protesters also chanted slogans against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and demanding to refrain from making amendments in the CPC which are against the general public.
While addressing at the protest, the district bar Shangla president Advocate Fayaz Ahmed said government should immediately withdraw the amendments in CPC otherwise their strike would remain continue across the district.
The lawyers had also boycotted from the court proceedings on Monday and Tuesday in protest against the amendments in the CPC.
