During the holy month of Ramadan, Assistant Commissioner Danyor, along with his team, conducted visits to various markets in response to public complaints. Strict action was taken against overpricing, poor hygiene, and other violations.
According to details, the Assistant Commissioner, along with his team, inspected meat shops, poultry sellers, vegetable vendors, and general stores in Danyor Bazaar of Gilgit-Baltistan. During the inspection, several shopkeepers were found guilty of charging excessive prices beyond the official rate list, selling substandard goods, and violating other regulations. Authorities took immediate action, arresting 11 butchers and poultry sellers on the spot and transferring them to jail.
The administration stated that strict measures are being implemented to ensure the provision of quality goods at official prices. Citizens have been urged to report any cases of overpricing or corruption to the relevant authorities for further action.
On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Danyor affirmed that even stricter measures would be enforced to regulate food prices and maintain quality throughout Ramadan.
