12 member thieves gang apprehended in Shangla

The suspects confessed to the crime in court and were sent to jail. Further investigation is underway,

Shangla police claimed to have arrested a 12-member gang of thieves involved in several recent robberies in Puran tehsil. The police also recovered stolen goods after the suspects identified them.

District police officer Imran Khan on Tuesday told journalists that he was receiving verbal complaints from the public regarding thefts in the limits of the Aloch police station.

He said that following the complaints, he had instructed SDPO Puran, Shaheen Shah, and SHO Bakhtzeb Khan of Aloch police station to immediately register a case against the unknown thieves and trace them.

DPO said SHO Bakhtzeb and his team registered a case against the unknown accused at the Aloch police station based on their complaint.

DPO further emphasized that while taking advantage of modern technology and ground realities, the police arrested Muhammad Jan, Asmatullah, residents of Nem Kalay, Aloch Haider Ali, resident of Aloch, Wajib Khan, and Kamran Khan, residents of Makra Puran.

Shangla police head said during initial interrogation, the accused revealed that they had stolen batteries from various vehicles, various items from houses and motorcycles, and stolen batteries from mosques. On their identification, the stolen goods were also recovered.

DPO said the police continued their tireless work and traced more suspects, including Razi Khan Imran, a resident of Nem Kalay, who was arrested during interrogation and revealed that he had stolen batteries, water pumps, chains, etc., from the different localities of the area.

He said on the identification of the suspects, various types of stolen goods had been recovered from the shopkeepers who were doing business in the Bazar Puran, Syed Ali Islam, Akbar Ali, Anwar Zada, Aql Zada, residents of Puran. So far, seventeen water pumps, eight batteries, two motorcycles, rings of various types of chains, about one lakh rupees in cash and other items have been recovered from all the suspects.

The suspects confessed to the crime in court and were sent to jail. Further investigation is underway, while eight suspects are under investigation in the case, and further interrogation and investigation are being conducted from them.

DPO Shangla Imran Khan congratulated the police team and issued instructions to recover the stolen goods from the suspects and bring the suspects to justice.
