Islamabad prepares for foreign delegations’ Visit, Road closures announced

ISLAMABAD: To ensure smooth passage for visiting foreign delegations, Islamabad’s traffic police have announced temporary road closures today. Serena Hotel road will be closed to traffic from both sides, while all entrances and exits to the Red Zone will remain open.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkiye, who arrived in the capital shortly after midnight on Thursday, was accorded a warm welcome by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

To minimize disruptions, citizens are advised to take alternative routes as suggested by the Islamabad traffic police.

Travelling from Radio Pakistan to Srinagar Highway? Use the Convention Center and Kashmir Chowk route.
Heading from Aabpara to Bhara Kahu? Take the Srinagar Highway.
Going from Club Road to the Red Zone? Use the Srinagar Highway and Seventh Avenue.The traffic police urge citizens to exercise caution while traveling and contact the police helpline for the latest traffic updates.
