35 drown in Indus as boat capsizes near Haripur

About 35 people drowned in Indus river at Burg near Haripur when a boat on way to Haripur from Shangla Dedal Kamach capsized near Haripur on Wednesday.
Assistant commissioner Haripur, Arab Gul told The Northern Post the boat capsized in the premises of Haripur in Indus river Tarbela lake. He said about 50 people including women and children were onboard and coming to Haripur from Dedal Kamach area of Shangla.
The Ac said, initially dead bodies of four people including children fished out of the river and about 14 people have survived and came to the bank of river by swimming.
He said rescue work for the rest of drowned people is underway and local sailors are taking part in it.
Ibadullah Khan, a social activist in Dedal Kamach told The Northern Post that most of drowned people belonged to Dedal Kamach and close relatives of each others.
He said the incident news came to the area like a thunderstorm putting the area into deep sorrow.
