15 family members die in road mishap in Malakand

Including women, children 15 members of a nomadic family, died after a truck they were travelling in skidded off the Swat Expressway on Thursday early morning. 

MALAKAND: Including women, children 15 members of a nomadic family, died after a truck they were travelling in skidded off the Swat Expressway in Malakand on Thursday early morning.

A tragic traffic accident occurred near Tunnel No. 3 on the Swat Motorway, resulting in the deaths of 15 people and injuries to 8 others when a truck overturned. The deceased and injured included men, women, and children.

Upon receiving the report of the accident, the medical response team from Rescue 1122 Malakand swiftly arrived at the scene with an ambulance. Motorway police and staff also responded and participated in the rescue efforts.

During the joint operation, the Motorway police and staff transported some of the injured and the deceased to DHQ Hospital Batkhela using their vehicles, while the Rescue 1122 teams took the remaining victims to the hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors confirmed the death of 15 people, while medical assistance was provided to the 8 injured. Four individuals with serious injuries were referred to Swat due to their critical condition.

Preliminary information indicates that all those affected were from the Gabral area of Bahrain Tehsil in the Swat district. They belonged to a nomadic family that migrated seasonally to different regions.

The nature of the accident was extremely serious; however, thanks to the timely and professional actions of Rescue 1122 Malakand, further loss of life was averted.
