Windows 10 support ends soon: Here’s how to upgrade to Windows 11 for free

Three official ways to get the free upgrade, plus a trusted workaround for incompatible PCs

Microsoft Windows 10 formal support will be ended in October 2025, that’s why it is necessary to upgrade to Windows 11. If your computer fulfill the necessary requirements,  then you can upgrade your operating system for free. If your PC does not support, then there’s also a way to upgrade your system.

To upgrade Windows 11, Microsoft has strict requirements like TPM 2.0, secure boot and a supported processor. First of all, check the compatability of your PC heat check up.

If your PC is compatible, then you have 3 free ways to upgrade Windows 11.

  • Windows Update: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on ‘Check for updates’. It will be visible if it will be available on your Windows.
  • Installation Assistant: Download ‘Windows 11 Installation Assistant’ from Microsoft’s website. It will upgrade your system automatically.
  • Media Creation Tools: This tool will you to download ISO file or help in creating a boot USB file to update the Window.

If your PC does not support the new Window officially, then don’t loose hope. A free and trustworthy tool called Rufus, you can bypass TPM and safe boot requirements. For this, you will have to download ISO file for Windows 11, then prepare a driver through Rufus, in which these restrictions are removed.  Through this USB driver you can upgrade your old PC to Windows 11.

It is to remember that using old PC’s to download Windows 11 is not recommended by Microsoft and it can create many issues, but it can be implemented.
