Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued instruction to all Deputy Commissioners of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that in upper parts of province there are chances of rain, strong wind and thunder during next week
According to the Metrological Department, there will be effects of western plane waves from the night of Sep 15 to Sep 19. In its result the districts of Upper and Lower Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Butgram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bunir, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kohat, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Khyber, Orakzai, Karam, Hangu, Kirk and North and South Waziristan will have chances of intermittent rain, wind and thunder from Sep 16 to Sep 19.
PDMA has issued an advisory of the possible effects and said that on Sep 18 and 19, there will be high water level in local canals. The roads in mountainious regions can remain closed due to landsliding. However, due to wind and lighting, weak infrastructures, slum houses, electricity poles, advertising boards and solar panels are at high risk during these says.
Department has also advised all District Administration to take preventary measures so that the loss of life and property can be minimized. These instruction include traffic control in dangerous areas, cleaning of drainage system, farmers and cattle breeders are advised to take precautions, and to keep safe the airports and boards.
Local Administration has been told to arrange additional resourcesfor tourist places and dangerous areas and aware the public of possible dangers.
