
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif recently met with three national heroes from Gilgit-Baltistan: Wasiyat Khan, Ansar, and Muhammad Khan. These individuals played a crucial role in saving 300 lives by providing a warning about a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) in the Ghizer area.
During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude, stating that he was thankful on behalf of the 240 million people of Pakistan.
He acknowledged the selfless actions of the three shepherds, emphasising that their prompt warning demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility, which allowed for the timely evacuation of the area.
In recognition of their heroic efforts, the Prime Minister awarded each of them a reward check of Rs 2.5 million. He noted that their humanitarian service would always be remembered in golden words.

Wasiyat Khan, Ansar, and Muhammad Khan expressed their thanks to the Prime Minister for the honour, attributing their ability to save lives to the grace and mercy of Allah.
The shepherds had saved the lives of their town in Ghizar through a midnight call.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar was also present during the meeting.
