PCB to release documentary celebrating a decade of PSL glory
Film to chronicle the league's journey from its challenges in the UAE and during COVID-19 to becoming a global cricketing powerhouse
Pakistan cricket Board (PCB) has decided to make a documentary film to celebrate the 10 year completion of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to sources, this documentary will cover the journey of PSL from 2016-2025, which will include challenges, acheivements and success of last decade.
This film will highlight the important steps of the difficulties encountered during COVID-19, efforts to attract international players and shifting from Dubai to Pakistan. It will also show that how PSL appeared to be the top franchise league in the world.
This film will be prepared by PCB on international standards, which will highlight tthose difficulties of PCL management, players and staff which they have faced to continue this league.
PSL had doubts as a new tournament, but it was included in top T20 league in the world in less than 10 years. PSL is also appreciated to brought back international cricket in Pakistan and provide a platform to new local cricketers.
According to a recent report by BBC Sport, PSL stands on the 2nd biggest passionate franchise league, which was after the number of IPL.
Documentary Film will also show the journey of all teams which have won titles in last 9 additions and they include:
- Islamabad United (2016, 2018, 2024)
- Peshawar Zalmi (2017)
- Quetta Gladiators (2019)
- Karachi Kings (2020)
- Multan Sultans (2021)
- Lahore Qalanders (2022, 2023)
PCB will get recommendations from production houses from next week, whose purpose is to finalize it with the help of an experienced and the world renowned company.
This documentary film will not only be the celebration of last decade success but also the story of rise of cricket in Pakistan.
