The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Thursday evening issued an emergency alert for Karachi and Hyderabad and predicted heavy rain in the region.
According to the NDMA alert, Karachi and Hyderabad are set to experience significant rainfall as a weather system approaches Sindh from August 24 to 28.
Authorities warn that heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected in Hyderabad within the next 1-2 hours, raising concerns about potential urban flooding.
Karachi residents should also brace for heavy rainfall in the coming 60-90 minutes. The anticipated torrential downpours could lead to urban flooding and power outages across both cities.
