
On Friday morning, rain-triggered floods and landslides in the Shangla district resulted in the deaths of 23 people, including women and children, and injured 8 others.
A report from the District Commissioner’s office revealed that the bodies were recovered from various areas, including tehsil Alpuri, tehsil Puran, and tehsil Chakesar, during search operations following the severe flooding.
The floods caused significant damage, destroying seven houses, one mosque, one school, three suspension bridges, and various link and major roads.
Revenue staff were deployed to the affected areas to gather more information on casualties and losses, while rescue operations continued.

The District Commissioner of Shangla reported that relief efforts were initiated for those impacted by the floods and landslides, with families being evacuated to safer locations.
The devastating floods primarily affected the Malakand and Hazara divisions, with Buner experiencing the highest number of casualties.
