Govt to provide mobile phones on easy installments to boost digital inclusion
Shiza Fatima unveils plans for youth & women empowerment through tech, AI training for 1 Million students
Federal Minister for Information Technology, Shiza Fatima Khawaja, has announced that the government is preparing a policy under which mobile phones will be provided to the people on easy installments, so that every individual can be part of the digital world.
While addressing a function of the Pak-China Friendship Centre, he said that these steps are part of the government’s vision of using modern technology to promote skills and education.
He also said that it is the need of the time to connect youth, students, and women with science and technology. The government is trying to provide opportunities to youth in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Shiza Fatima has also discussed the digital training programs that DigiSkills provides, training 1 lakh people annually. However, the target for this year is to train 10 lakh students in artificial intelligence (AI).
She also said that all public places are made safe for women so that they can play an important role in the country’s national development.
