Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds starting from June 12, 2025. According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), this spell of rain may continue intermittently till Monday.
Areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, and Kohat may receive rain or hailstorms along with thunderstorms.
The PDMA has directed all district administrations to take preemptive measures to handle any emergencies caused by the rains. Authorities have been instructed to ensure the availability of small and large machinery for immediate response if needed.
Citizens have been advised to stay away from electric wires, dilapidated buildings, signboards, and billboards during the rains. Farmers have been urged to plan their activities keeping the weather forecast in mind.
Tourists and local residents in sensitive high-altitude areas have been advised to stay updated on weather conditions and take precautionary measures. District administrations have been instructed to disseminate weather alerts in local languages in vulnerable areas.
In case of road closures, authorities have been directed to provide alternative routes for traffic and prioritize the restoration of road links. Tourists have been advised to contact PDMA’s helpline before traveling to tourist destinations.
PDMA’s Emergency Operations Center is fully operational and ready to provide immediate assistance in case of any emergency.
