The influencer, accompanied by her parents and sister Alishba Anjum, posted a video showing an empty Saudi Airlines plane with the caption: “We had the whole plane to ourselves.”
The 25-year-old social media personality, who boasts over 25 million TikTok followers, gave followers a brief aircraft tour before her spiritual journey. While some fans extended warm wishes, others criticized what they perceived as unnecessary flaunting of wealth during a religious obligation that emphasizes humility.
“Business class passengers board first – she probably filmed before others came,” commented one user, while another questioned: “Is this Hajj or a show-off trip?” The backlash intensified with remarks like “You could’ve sponsored poor pilgrims instead” and “May Allah guide them to the right path.”
Mirza later clarified this wasn’t a chartered flight, noting she’d only seen such empty planes during COVID times. Some defended the family, suggesting their father – a senior police officer – might have arranged privacy given their celebrity status.
