Since the very first day of our lives, we are struggling to save ourselves. We are earning to eat. As we know healthy body keeps a healthy mind. Nowadays, the trend has been changed. People are willing to lose their weights; especially girls are prone to lose their weight. They are obsessed with weight. They want to shed some pounds. Why? People do not like the fat girls. Industry does not accept the fat girls. So they try to shed some pounds. For this, they meet with some drastic health issues like losing so much weight which is a life threatening step after sometime.
Sometimes, they are obsessed to eat less ergo they meet with a disorder namely known as “anorexia”. It is a disorder in which a person loses its weight and makes a distorted perception of weight. People with anorexia place a high value on controlling their weight and shape, using extreme efforts that tend to significantly interfere with their lives.
To prevent weight gain and to continue losing weight, people with anorexia severely restrict the amount of food they eat. They may control their body, their calories by tossing the cookies if they have more calories they may intake as according to their perception. It is not something about an eating disorder, it is about a psychological issue.
Basically, we are the slaves of the other person’s view. What he thinks, what he says about us. We are under the influence of the other people’s opinion. We are mentally tortured by the society. What if they would not accept you, if you are fat? The world will spin whether they accept you or not, but our life’s circle stops at a certain point and that is the point, which is our nadir, where we lose our self-confidence and we meet with an unbearable loss about our personality and then we start making these types of decisions, the repercussions of these decisions are horrible after a certain time.
The girls who are obsessed with weight and the girls who start dieting and meet with the anorexia nervosa. They are under these threats. Anorexia can have numerous complications. At its most severe, it can be fatal. Death may occur suddenly — even when someone is not severely underweight. This may result from abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) or an imbalance of electrolytes — minerals such as sodium, potassium and calcium that maintain the balance of fluids in your body.
Other complications of anorexia include: Anemia
Heart problems, such as mitral valve prolapse, abnormal heart rhythms or heart failure
Bone loss (osteoporosis), increasing the risk of fractures
Loss of muscle
Gastrointestinal problems, such as constipation, bloating or nausea
Electrolyte abnormalities, such as low blood potassium, sodium and chloride
Kidney problems
If a person with anorexia becomes severely malnourished, every organ in the body can be damaged, including the brain, heart and kidneys. This damage may not be fully reversible, even when the anorexia is under control.
In addition to the host of physical complications, people with anorexia also commonly have other mental health disorders as well. They may include:
Depression, anxiety and other mood disorders
Personality disorders
Obsessive-compulsive disorders
Alcohol and substance misuse
Self-injury, suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts
These are the complications from which they suffer if they go through with this. We should take care and must pay attention to our surrounding. Sometimes, it is important to accept yourself as who you are. Sometimes, it is important to accept the other person in that particular state or appearance in which he or she is. We are unaware about our acts, about our words, how much they hurt someone. It could be life-threatening. Today, we are discussing only a single issue, but when we look around in our society, a plethora of these kinds of issues are we facing. Some are mentally strong to avoid, while some are emotionally unstable and hankering for some good days, lest to disturb anyone by revealing their thoughts and in the end they are in jeopardy.
Neither above, neither below just to accept yourself, whether are you fat, small, thin, and dark. No matter who you are! But you be good at heart. You have humanity; you must be someone’s guardian angel. You are to put the other humans into an ease not to put them in difficulty. Let spread love and accept the people who they are!
