A 35-year-old woman was targeted by a motorcycle-rider in the Thanda Chua area of Abbottabad. The victim suffered severe burns to her face after the attacker threw acid on her.
According to details, the woman was returning home after purchasing school books for her children when the suspect, identified as Sadiq Abbasi, a resident of Hassan Town with ancestral roots in Boi, approached her and threw acid on her face. The victim was immediately rushed to Ayub Medical Complex for initial treatment but was later transferred to a hospital in Taxila due to the lack of specialized facilities for acid burn victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police investigations reveal that the accused, Sadiq Abbasi, had been blackmailing the victim. The woman had reportedly complained about his harassment to Abbasi’s wife, which allegedly provoked him to carry out the brutal attack.
The victim’s face is severely damaged, and she is currently undergoing treatment. Authorities are actively searching for the accused, who fled the scene on a motorcycle.
