Battagram: A man allegedly killed by one of the Kohistan video scandal main actors at Banna Allai of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Battagram district.
A first information report was registered against Kohistani’s brother, Gul Nazar and another unknown suspect, Gul Shahzada, under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code at a police station in Banna Allai, by the brother of the murder victim, Muhammad Waqar. As per the FIR, Kohistani’s younger brother Gul Nazar shot Waqar, over suspicions that he was in a relationship with Kohistani’s second wife.
The incident took place in the Byari area in Allai tehsil of Batagram District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the complainant, they were heading to a relatives house in Allai, when they reached Janazga, where the two suspects stopped their car and asked the deceased to step out and settle the dispute. As per the FIR, when Waqar stepped out, Gul Nazar opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.
According to Banna station house officer (SHO) Naveed Ahmed Khan, the suspects had stopped the victim’s car and used firearms to shoot him. One of the suspects, Gul Nazar, had suspicions of an inappropriate relationship between his sister-in-law and the victim.
Following the murder the suspects ran away, the SHO said, adding that further interrogations and raids had been launched to arrest the suspects.
Khan said that the victim and the suspects belonged to the same tribe.
Meanwhile, another brother of late Kohistani, Bin Yasar, denied the allegation when he was contacted by The Northern Post.
“I am in Abbottabad and the incident occurred in Allai where they accused my brother for [the] killing. However, our relatives [family of the victim] had personal enmity with another family. How can we kill people for honour if [we are] struggling in the courts against the menace of honour killings,” he said.
He said that the family of the deceased was their close relative and belonged to their tribe and were coming to their house as guests and added that the allegation was beyond his understanding.
Kohistani was [shot dead][1] on March 6 in the densely populated area of Sarban Chowk at around 8:10pm by unidentified gunmen who managed to flee afterwards.
