Veteran Political Figure of Allai BATTAGRAM: A seasoned politician, prominent figure of Tehsil Allai in Battagram district, and esteemed leader of the Biari Group passed away on Saturday at the age of 70 after a brief illness. He had been hospitalized for the past week.
According to his family members, Chief of Allai Akbar Namoos Khan, known as “Aka Jan”, Nawab of Allai” breathed his last on Saturday as he had been suffering from cardiac arrest and undergoing treatment. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves throughout the community, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable achievements and a void that can never be filled.
Akbar Namoos Khan was the elder brother of MNA Prince Nawaz Khan and uncle of MPA Zubair Khan. Akbar Namoos Khan’s legacy extends far beyond his achievements, his presence in the area resulted in his brother Fateh Muhammad Khan winning the MPA seat from 1977 to 1999 unbeatable, as he has left behind a family that has continued to make significant contributions to the world of politics.
The local people of the area affectionately called him “Aka Jan” and in some areas, the “Nawab of Allai”, in recognition of his remarkable respect and selfless services.
His brother, Prince Mohammad Nawaz Khan, has served as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) for an impressive five times, while his nephew, Engineer Zubair Khan, has been elected as a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) twice.
Akbar Namoos Khan, who served as a member of the district council of Mansehra when Battagram was part of the Mansehra district, played a significant role in shaping the political landscape of the Allai tehsil in particular and Battagram in general.
Akbar Namoos Khan’s close friend, Habib Ur Rehman, a former tehsildar at the Revenue Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, told The Northern Post that his unwavering dedication, unrelenting passion, and unparalleled leadership skills earned him the respect and admiration of the community.

He says Akbar Namoos Khan’s most notable contributions were his tireless efforts to resolve disputes and conflicts within the community between the local tribes. His exceptional mediation skills, coupled with his deep understanding of the complexities of human relationships, enabled him to bring people together and find amicable solutions to even the most intractable problems.
Mr. Habib Ur Rehman adds that the passing of Akbar Namoos Khan is a tremendous loss, not only for his family and friends but also for the entire community of Allai, Battagram as his contributions to politics, his tireless efforts to resolve community disputes, and his enduring legacy will be remembered for generations to come.
