The Tribal Union of Journalists strongly condemns the ongoing sectarian riots and massacre of innocent civilians in Kurram district. The higher authorities must ensure the safety and security of the journalist community in Kurram, as well as ordinary citizens.
The recent martyrdom of journalist Janan Hussain and the burning of journalist Muhammad Rehan’s house are deeply concerning incidents. The central leadership of the Tribal Union of Journalists has expressed grave concern over the criminal negligence of the rulers regarding the ongoing bloodshed in Kurram district.

The massacre of innocent civilians is a severe blow to the performance of security agencies. The journalist community in Kurram district, along with ordinary citizens, is not safe amidst these riots.
On Friday, journalist Janan Hussain was killed by miscreants. on Saturday, the house of another journalist, Mohammad Rehan, was set on fire. The life and property of the journalist community are insecure in the troubled situation of Kurram district.
The protection of the journalist community in Kurram district, including ordinary citizens, is the responsibility of the higher authorities, who have completely failed in their duty.
The Tribal Union of Journalists demands that the Corps Commander Peshawar take immediate steps to protect Kurram journalists and ensure their safety and security.
