Sufi poet Hafiz Alpuri’s grand son drowned in Khan river

SHANGLA: Sufi poet Hafiz Alpuri’s grandson drowned in Khan river at Alpuri Shangla on Sunday. He was fallen into the river due to strong winds.

According to locals that 15 years old Tauqeer Elahi a fifth generation grandson of Sufi Poet Hafiz Alpuri had gone to the Khan Khwar accompanied along with companions for picnic but there strong winds pushed him into the river, in which he drowned.

Eyewitnesses says that he was stuck by a whirlpool which caused his death.

They said that local people rushed the scene and after hectic efforts they fished out dead body of the deceased.

Later on, his funeral was offered at Koz Alpuri in Shangla and people from different walk of life attended the funeral.
