Smart lockdown imposed in Shangla villages

SHANGLA: The district administration Shangla has imposed smart lockdown in three village councils of the district in view of the increasing number of cases.

The decision of smart lockdown was taken during a meeting held about the covid-19 hotspots at the deputy commissioner office in Alpuri on Tuesday which was chaired by the DC Shangla, Imran Hussain Ranjha. Additional deputy commissioner, district police officer, Malak Ihjaz, district health officer, Abdur Rehman, and other officials were in present.

During the meeting, the chair and meeting participants agreed that the smart lockdown of carefully selected areas in the district, where maximum numbers of covid-19 confirmed cases have been reported, is crucial to arrest the fast-spread of virus transmission in other areas.

The meeting unanimously agreed by the forum that the following areas have to be declared as hotspots for the imposition of smart lock-down.

The hotspots selected areas are village Nemkaly, Tehsil Puran, Village Lilonai, Tehsil Alpurai and Village Kuza Alpurai, Tehsil Alpuri.

It was also decided in the meeting that district police officer, Shangla, would deploy sufficient police personnel to the hotspots.

The deputy commissioner on the occasion directed Assistant Commissioner, Alpurai, and Puran to constitute committees of notables in these lockdown areas respectively to ensure supply of essential commodities besides helping police to complete lock-down in letter and spirit.

The DC Shangla also directed the health authorities to take maximum samples/swab from the close contacts of positive patients at least 8-9 samples per confirmed case.

The district admin urged the DHO Shangla to enhance numbers of random sample collection to significantly improve the ratio of per million population tests.
