Shangla receives first snowfall of 2025

Heavy snowfall blanketed the upper parts of Shangla district on Monday

Heavy snowfall blanketed the upper parts of Shangla district on Monday, covering several towns in a thick layer of snow. This was the first snowfall of the year, and it brought with it a significant increase in cold temperatures. After a brief break, a new spell of snowfall started early Monday morning and continued throughout the day, affecting areas including the district headquarters, Alpuri, Yakhtangay, Shangla top, and many others.

The snowfall triggered cold winds in the district and caused disruptions to traffic flow on major roads, such as the Bisham-Swat, Alpuri-Puran, and Karora-Chakesar roads. Power supply was also suspended in some areas, adding to the misery of local residents. The heavy snowfall and rain disrupted normal life in Pakistan, with locals confined to their houses due to the severe cold.
